Hello everyone! The other day, I went down to Ramakrishna mutt library and was reading some an article in a magazine about the subject of suffering, which it did speak about religious beliefs for the possibilties about the cause of suffering! It explained different aspects about suffering, but it was from a religious aspect! However, there were two points mentioned in the magazine about the causes of suffering or a particular bad things happening in the lives of people are true in which I agree with these statements 100%. You probably are asking, " What are those points that were mentioned in the book ?" Let me bring them out to you! 1). Did we cause suffering in the lives of other people for us to reap back suffering This point I really liked, I find this to be really true! When one does evil, triffing, or doing lowdown things in the lives of other people, he or she will reap the conquences of our past actions! I want to add this statement also! When one gives people a hard time and creating hell in their lives, and stressing them out for no reason, one will reap back the bad situations and things due to their past actions of what he or she has done to other people! 2) Do you do things to your body to cause suffering later on This is another point that it brought out! Even though I am not a religious actic, but I really agree with this statement! Do you smoke a lot, and later one ends up with cancer or problems with their lungs, or heart problems so that suffering can happen in the future!? In my opinion, I believe that sometimes that we can cause suffering in our lives just by what we could be sowing bad or evil in the lives of other people, and it hold true with the body! My other opinion in such cases, we don't cause suffering, it happens in untimely events! For example, there are sometimes most of us could be in a hellish household during childhood, which we didn't qualify to be in that family and we were placed there at an untimely event in life, but most of us couldn't change it at all, but most of us had to suffer and endure those situations! At the same time, most of us probably learned from those experiences and wanted to bless other people! |

GONE ARE THE DAYS
GONE ARE THE DAYS
When
The school reopened in June,
And we settled in our new desks and
benches!
When we queued up in book depot,
And got our new books
and notes!
When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, yet
managed to line up daily for the morning prayers.
We learnt writing with
slates and pencils, and
Progressed To fountain pens and ball pens and then Micro tips!
When we began drawing with crayons and evolved to
Color pencils and finally sketch pens!
When we started calculating
first with tables and then with
Clarke's tables and advanced to
Calculators and computers!
When we chased one another in the
corridors in Intervals, and returned to the classrooms
Drenched in sweat!
When we had lunch in classrooms, corridors,
Playgrounds,
under the trees and even in cycle sheds!
When all the colors in the world,
Decorated the campus on the Second Saturdays!
When a single P.T. period in the week's Time Table,
Was awaited more eagerly than the monsoons!
When cricket was played with writing pads as bats,
And Neckties and socks rolled into balls!
When few played
'kabadi' and 'Kho-Kho' in scorching sun,
While others simply played
'book cricket' in the
Confines of classroom!
Of fights but no conspiracies,
Of Competitions but seldom jealousy!
When we used to
watch Live Cricket telecast,
In the opposite house in Intervals and Lunch breaks!
When few rushed at 3:45 to
'Conquer' window seats in our School bus!
While few others had 'Big Fun', 'peppermint' ,
'kulfi', ' milk ice !' and 'sharbat !' at 4o Clock!
Gone are the days
Of Sports Day,
and the annual School Day ,
And the one-month long
preparations for them.
Gone are the days
Of the stressful Quarterly,
Half Yearly and Annual Exams, And the most
enjoyed holidays after them!
Gone are the days
Of tenth and twelfth standards, when
We Spent almost the whole year writing revision tests!
We learnt,
We enjoyed,
We played,
We won,
We lost,
We laughed,
We cried,
We fought,
We thought..
With so much fun in them, so many friends,
So much experience, all this and more!
Gone are the days
When we used
to talk for hours with our friends!
Now we don't have time to say a `Hi'!
Gone are the days
When we played games on the road!
Now we
Code on the road with laptop!
Gone are the days
When we saw stars Shining at Night!
Now we see stars when our code doesn't Work!
Gone are the days
When we sat to chat with Friends on grounds!
Now we chat in chat rooms....... !
Gone are the days
Where we
studied just to pass!
Now we study to save our job!
Gone are the days
Where we had no money in our pockets and still fun filled on our hearts!!
Now we have the atm as well as credit card but with an empty heart!!
Gone are the days
Where we shouted on the road!
Now we don't shout even at home
Gone are the days
Where we got lectures from all!
Now we give lectures to all... like the one I'm doing now....!!
Gone are the days
But not the memories, which will be
Lingering in our hearts for ever and ever and
Ever and ever and ever .....
Gone are the Days.... But still there are lot more Days to come in our Life!!
NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE ,
DONT FORGET TO
LIVE THE LIFE THAT STILL
EXISTS...... .

oh india
It is ironic that when the country needs unprecedented commitment, discipline, coordination and hard work to achieve the goal of becoming a developed country is India going the other way. The opportunities and ambience created by the new economic policies and the efforts of the intelligent and enterprising young Indians are exploited to swindle the nation’s wealth by some gentlemen villains who are in prominent posts in the above said pillars of the society.
Unimaginable nexus among politicians, bureaucrats, press and business class; if not always at least in some cases the involvement of judiciary also, only to sell and buy India among themselves, cheating millions and millions of ordinary Indians. This is the condition of the shining India today.
We are living in a historic moment in India when all the values especially related to wealth are lost and evil values take over them. Evil practices which can affect a whole nation are not punished, the result is free and happy public appearance of the practitioners which in fact sends a wrong message and attracts more followers to them.
People with values and conscience are far too less. But these less number of Indians has to wage a war and win. One, this minority politicians, bureaucrats, journalists, writers, teachers, lawyers, business people have to constantly make awareness in the society against corruption and relentlessly fight against that.
we have to somehow find a leader of the magnitude of Mahatma Gandhi or the former chief election commissioner, T.N.Seshan who can revolutionize the judiciary and investigative agencies, so that the evil doers and criminals could be found out and punished severely then and there. Because only fear can flood evil.

nice story
Subject: Story of a Bronze Statue! |
The S.M.A.R.T. goal test:
Before setting any goal, be sure it has passed the S.M.A.R.T. goal test:
Specific: Goals that are specific are much more likely to be attained than those that are general.
Measurable: Attach specific 'numbers' to your goals, so you can tell whether or not you're getting closer to reaching it.
Attainable: Be sure your goals are just slightly out of your reach, rather than 'pie in the sky' goals.
Realistic: This means, YOU are willing to reach that goal and are able to do so under your current circumstances.
Timely: Be sure your goal has a specific deadline. Not 'someday' but rather a specific date.
Realistic Setting goals is such an important part of our lives. Doing so propels us to higher levels and helps us achieve more successes in life. If you scroll down in this newsletter, you'll find an article directly related to setting and achieving your goals. It's called 'You Gotta Have Goals' and I know it can help any success-oriented individual.

Think Positively to Change Your Life!
Subject - Think Positively to Change Your Life!
Hi,
These days it can be really difficult to think positively. It seems like every day there is more bad news about the economy, and no one really knows when a change is going to come or when the bad times are going to end, or even how bad it`s going to get before things turn around.
At times like this it`s really easy to get caught in a cycle of negative thinking. It doesn`t seem like anything is going right, so you think negative thoughts and fill your mind with worry about the next bad thing that`s going to happen, whether you`re going to be able to keep paying your bill or even if you`ll still have a job next year.
All that negativity isn`t very much fun, for one thing. It`s impossible to be very happy about things if you`re filling your mind with worry, doom and gloom. It`s also hard to see the good things that are already in your life if you`re worrying about those things going away.
And the truth is the more you think negatively, the more negative effects you`re going to see in your life. You might find that after a day of negativity you`re actually feeling physically sick like you have a cold coming on. This isn`t your imagination, it`s a real physical manifestation of your negative thoughts, and a clear example of how we`re able to influence our environment and what happens to us through our thoughts and feelings.
On the flip side we can also influence what happens to us in a positive way, though positive thinking and feelings. Focusing on the good that is already in our lives and thinking about the greater good that will come to us in the future, the goals we want to achieve and the things we want to have, will make more good things come into our lives.
The key is to focus on what it is that you want in your life, not what you don`t want. Clearly we all want security, peace and stability in our lives, our jobs and our families, but all too often we think about what would happen if those things were taken away from us. We dwell on lost jobs, illness and divorce, and those negative thoughts and feelings just bring more negative energy into our lives.
If you want to feel more positive, think more positive thoughts. If you want more goodness in your life, think about the good things you have and how you`d like your life to be. Imagine a life that is calm, a job that provides all the money you need and a family that is happy, and that is what you will have.
Positive thinking isn`t just a way to make you feel better in hard times (though it will do that). It`s a concrete thing that you can do to turn your life around, no matter how crazily things are swirling around you.

TODAY'S CONTEMPLATION
People are often unreasonable and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
-- Dr. Kent M. Keith
It reminds me of a sentence of an old Tamil song:
Vaalnthaalum yesum, Thaalnthaalum yesum
Translation:
Vaalnthaalum = When doing well,
yesum = Talk ill about you
Thaalnthaalum= when downtrodden
