We are ub Joker's land.  or President, yet you will not get the capital punishment. Good, very good. There are plenty of lawyers to argue your case and there are plenty of politicians to save your life. Forget about the PM and President, it is a matter one one man's life. How can these politicians and lawyers argue to save these convicts from capital punishment., on the pretext of delayed decision. Does the delay wipe out the crime according to the law? Had it been for the lawyers' kin and/or these politicians kin to be murdered would they have tolerated the crime and asked for pardon for the convicts? What a pitty. we are living in these foolish politicians governance.

if this is justice to our ex-PM what about common man. Politicians can change indian law.

 People like Vaiko only do posturing, they have not done any good for Tamils till date. As a Tamil I am ashamed that some gullible folks in TN are getting misled by such 'Dravidians' who actually care two hoots for the Tamils. There only agenda is to somehow keep Tamils away from the mainstream and keep their own ilk in power in TN. It is high time true Tamil lovers show these people the door.

t's Great shame for India , the person who killed PM and state govt. and court are supporting them ...they are supporting because this guys from that state ...shame on such leader and court....if president will approve this plea request then after for Kasab also some will support.....

Today is my anniversary. Not my wedding anniversary, but the anniversary of my first, and last, heart attack.

One year ago today When I went for my morning walk in Kodai Hills with Prof.Raju this happened.

After a brief walk in the mountains of Kodai hills, first feeling was completely run down and then feeling like I couldn’t move and finally feeling the worst pain I have ever before felt in my chest, neck and jaw, I came to the realization that something was very, very wrong. I was having a heart attack.
It’s hard to believe one year ago, I was taken from the emergency room into the cath lab with 95% blockages (LAD) at the ripe ole age of 56, without ever having any symptoms of CAD. I will not say it’s been easy, as I have not felt the “same” since. I hear stories of people who have had caths and stents who feel so much better, but that is not my story. Going from one test to another was really difficult, not to mention the depression I was experiencing that my life would never be the same

As I look back over the past year, I look back with celebration and gratitude.

I am grateful that I am alive. The first 3 months, I counted by the week. The next 6 months, I counted by the month. Then 3 months to 1 year. Similarly important have been the visits to the cardiologist which were at 4 months and 6 months and the next will be at 18 months'
I thank God for my wife as she has stayed with me through thick and thin

I am thankful that I was lucky to end up at a great hospital with fantastic doctors and nurses that kept me alive. I will be forever indebted to the people who figured out how to implant a stent into my artery and for the surgeon who dedicated his practice to this procedure. I am appreciative of the medications that I take that have lowered my blood
pressure and cholesterol numbers to healthy levels.

Love to all you wonderful persons who supported me this past year.
It is impossible to express my deep appreciation for the emergency care i received from my good friend Pradeep chairmen,AUI Kodai) who rushed me to the best hospital at Kodai,DR.Vivekananad of Kodaimediacl center, Dr,Subburaman of Apollo madurai, Dr.Subramnaiam of Apollo.Chennai [Pre and Post Surgery] in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Their concern and compassion were genuine and heart-felt.

I celebrate my life style changes.
I rejoice in the turn around of the ways I deal with stress. I am adopting new habits for managing the stress that comes with living. I look forward to opportunities to practice my patience with others. I listen to people with an open heart and look for the commonalities in our beliefs. When someone is frustrated with me, I am thankful for the feedback they are giving me and find new ways that I can improve
Today, as I celebrate my anniversary, I will set new goals for the coming year.

I don't look at them with fear because I know that I am being so closely looked after now by my loving wife and childrens that it's highly unlikely that my heart will take me through the ER doors again on an ambulance Journey from Kodai hills to Madurai Apollo fighting for my life.

So, I celebrate these days ... maybe a little more than my own birthday now ... but I don't dread them. They are evidence of something good that happened to me in response to something bad. A lot of the bad things that have happened in my life couldn't be fixed and they were a lot more minor than this.

There are many positives to my heart scare, including my 12 kg weight loss, by eating what I eat (much healthier) and exercising more. I went from a size of 36 inches down to a size 3o!(waist size)
I exercise daily and feel so much better. My cholestoral levels are great. So, I continue to do what works for me

I stand by Hazare and what he fights for.

Think of the symbolic contrast between morning and evening of Independence Day. At the Red Fort one saw the dull rituals of a tired state being enacted inanely. At Rajghat, a Khadi clad man sits waiting quietly in an act of prayer, silent in reflection as if waiting for a message from the Mahatma himself. The point is Mr Prime Minister that it is not your twenty two point riders that he has to answer. It is his questions about freedom that you must respond to. What according to the Government is freedom? Is election merely the increased circulation of corruption every five years.

There are moments when protest is a form of duty. When citizens realize that a government has abdicated its responsibility. So at this new Jantar Mantar I light my candle and send my SMS message of protest against a regime that denies the dream of the future. Civil disobedience is my right and now my duty. You give me no alternative, Mr Prime Minister. In arresting Hazare, you have made a mockery of democracy.

As a citizen who believes in the rule of law, as a democrat who believes in the necessity of governance and as an Indian who recognizes what history means, I stand by Hazare and what he fights for.

My driving licence validity was about to expire in less than a fortnight. To renew the same, I did a bit of search on the mighty web and gathered all the required information. This information is available on the state RTO website. Since i am above 50 years, all it required was to submit 2 forms. CMV-9 is the form to be filled by applicant for DL renewal while another form CMV-1 needs to be filled by a registered doctor certifying that the applicant is medically fit to drive vehicles on Indian roads. To be doubly sure, I called up a near by driving school on the procedure to get it renewed. The person who picked up my call said they need the original DL with 3 passport size photos and a fee of Rs 400/-. I asked him about the medical fitness certificate, he laughed at me and said they will take care of all those formalities. And he mentioned in a very confident voice that I don’t have to waste my time in running to govt offices. I thanked him for the information provided and decided to get it renewed without having to go through illegal ways.

I promptly went to the RTO office in Tiruvanmiyur and collected both the forms available at reception. RTO Office .. Now, we had to get the medical fitness certificate. Our family doctor’s clinic is close to this office and I was about to head towards the clinic. While I was coming out, noticed a sign board of a red medical cross. When I carefully observed that sign board, it wasn’t a clinic of a doctor. But it had a mention of “medical fitness certificates” service availability. On the outlook, that store had a photocopying machine and a whole bunch of forms that I saw in the RTO reception. That store keeper was selling those *FREE* forms at a *nominal* cost! When I asked him about the fitness certificate he just asked me for a passport sized photograph, name of the applicant and a *FEE* of Rs. 50/-. I was reluctant and asked him the whereabouts of a doctor. He said, you don’t have to panic about all those things, furnish the 3 pre-requisites and he will get it done in less than 5 minutes! We said thanks but denied his *service*. We got the medical fitness certificate from our family doctor. Submitted the application forms along with a renewal fee or Rs 50/- at the RTO cash counter. Then gave the license at the counter for renewal which we had to collect on the next working day.

All that we spent for renewing the driving license was just Rs. 75/- (50 at RTO counter and 25 to the doctor). Now the question on my mind… though these illegal operators are widespread, why is that the RTO officials not taking any action? The worst is that the medical certificate providers are in the same building! Do the RTO officials ever wake up and take stringent action on these people? No wonder we have so many accidents happening on roads. Who should be punished for these accidents? any answers?

Just came back from my good old primary school after taking part in independence day celebrations after long gap of many years and nothing has changed since my childhood with few exceptions. Instead of freedom fighters we have politicians taking the honors of hoisting the flag. These politicians were giving speeches which they never practiced in their life. I am glad that the school is still maintaining the culture of celebrating ‘Independence Day’. Not many schools… err! educational business institutions are giving any importance to these celebrations off late. On my way back, found a bunch of neighborhood kids playing on road. Upon enquiring them about the celebrations, they were more than happy to play with their friends on a holiday. Looks like their schools have a declared holiday on this day and no celebrations at their school!

Where are we heading to? If we don’t celebrate such national festivals, how will kids of current generation understand the importance of ‘Freedom’ and all the sacrifices by our ‘great souls’ in order to achieve our independence? For most of us it is has become a matter of a day off to plan a for trip/movie with family. If it happens to be on a friday/monday, the joy multiplies as it becomes a long weekend! It is high time we understand the reality and spread the importance of such national festive days. We are losing ground on the values that we should be passing to kids.
