Death penalty

The high court today suspended the death penalty of Santhan, Murugan and Perarivalan alias Arivu  and gave an interim relief for eight weeks to the three accused

The lawyers for the assassins, Ram Jethmalani, R Vaigai and Collin Gonzalves, argued that it took the President 11 years to decide on their petition, which was illegal and unconstitutional

 we should abolish death penalty altogether or carry out hanging within reasonable time. If delay is still a valid reason to argue for leniency, then, it may be considered only after legal provisions are made to fix accontability for extraordinary delay. If not, almost every death convict will be guaranteed of an almost assured delay thanks to our systemic disease

The 3 convicts needs to be hanged, otherwise anti social elements won't dare even a bit, to do any thing in open day light. Sonia Gandhi has no authority to pardon. As another reader pointed out, 16 other people died on that day and nobody spared any thought for them

 can we control terrorism, and criminals and corrupt people never..... never.... unless we quickly execute death penalties..... unless and until we execute several death penalties, discipline will never come
