horrible tragedy

Firstly, lets keep aside yesterdays horrible tragedy and think about the events of 2008 wherein the complicity of our neighbour is very evident. What steps have been taken till date to ensure that such events do not happen? No amount of policing is going to ensure that such events do not take place unless the root cause is resolved/damaged sufficiently. I am not advocating a mad rush to settle these causes but some concrete steps. As for you being wary about security cameras which invade privacy, that is something that we will have to accept as we have done with pat-downs at airports. That is one freedom that we will need to forgo to ensure lives are protected. To counter the negative aspects, people will have to be more sensitive about their surroundings. But I personally do not think that just installing some cameras are going to solve anything just as we witnesssed a murder in Coimbatore with no police personnel to monitor it since it was a Sunday.. What a joke!!
