Take control. Your happiness is your responsibility. Happy people take time for things that enhance the feel-good factor, so build at least one activity you love into every day.

• Talk to your boss. Take the lead. Make sure you understand what’s expected of you. Ask for regular feedback. Maybe you can negotiate taking on more of the work you like and losing some of the tasks you enjoy least.

• Reject negativity. It just drags you down. Happiness is contagious.
